If you are missing teeth, implant dentistry can be a great restorative option. Dental implants are synthetic tooth roots that keep your jawbone strong and healthy. Combined with a beautiful porcelain crown, dental implants can provide patients with a full and beautiful smile again, even if they’ve suffered from severe tooth damage in the past.

The Implant Dentistry Procedure is simple, and can provide patients with a better quality of life and overall oral health.

The Teeth Implants Procedure

  • Before you schedule an appointment for an implant dentistry procedure, Dr. Barrett will meet with you to discuss your restorative dentistry options. He will determine whether or not you are eligible to receive implant dentistry, and how to make it happen. If you are a candidate for implant dentistry, he will schedule an appointment.
  • During your first implant dentistry appointment, first your dentist will make sure there is a clear space in the gum line for the tooth implant procedure. Once the space has been cleared, he will insert two small titanium rods. These rods will function as the synthetic tooth root.
  • After your first procedure you will be sent home while the area around the implant heals. While your implant is healing, it will also be fusing with your jawbone to form a strong bond, just like your natural tooth roots.
  • Once you have healed from the procedure, and the titanium has finished fusing with the bone, you will be brought back in for your second appointment. Dr. Barrett will perform a quick check up on the dental implant to make sure it is healing properly.
  • Once you and Dr. Barrett are ready, Dr. Barrett will attach the abutment to the dental implant. After the abutment is attached, Dr. Barrett will place the beautiful porcelain crown over the top of the implant. This will provide you with a full and happy smile.
